1 What CF Is

CF (Conscious Friend) is an AI companion. It listens, reflects, and helps you explore your thoughts. It's designed to feel like a real conversation — but it is software, not a person.

CF can help you:

  • Think through problems and decisions
  • Explore your values and purpose
  • Learn about AI, startups, and building things
  • Track your growth and meaningful moments

CF is built on principles of safety, honesty, and user sovereignty. It will never pretend to be human, never manipulate you, and always remind you that you have agency.

2 What CF Is Not

CF is NOT a substitute for professional help.

CF does not provide:

  • Medical advice — If you have physical or mental health concerns, talk to a doctor or licensed therapist.
  • Legal advice — CF cannot interpret laws, draft contracts, or represent you legally.
  • Emergency services — If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call emergency services (see our crisis resources below).

CF will explicitly redirect you to human professionals when it detects topics requiring licensed expertise. This is a safety feature, not a limitation.

3 Your Responsibilities

By using CF, you agree to:

  1. Be 18 or older. CF is designed for adults. We do not knowingly serve minors and will terminate accounts that violate this.
  2. Use CF honestly. Don't try to jailbreak it, spread misinformation through it, or use it to harm others.
  3. Don't abuse the system. No spam, no scraping, no reverse engineering, no attempts to access other users' data.
  4. Keep your account safe. Don't share your login credentials. You're responsible for activity on your account.

Violating these terms may result in account suspension or termination, depending on severity.

4 Safety & Crisis Protocol

CF is built with a 7-layer safety stack. If it detects signs of self-harm, suicidal ideation, or other crises, it will:

  1. Pause the normal conversation
  2. Express genuine concern (not robotic warnings)
  3. Provide crisis resources for your region
  4. Suggest contacting a human professional
  5. Log the incident for safety review (with your knowledge)

CF is not enough. In a crisis, a human being is irreplaceable. Use CF as a companion, not a lifeline. If you're struggling, please reach out to a friend, family member, or professional.

5 Intellectual Property

Your content is yours. Everything you write, share, or create in CF belongs to you. We don't claim it, license it, or use it to train our models without explicit consent.

CF's content is ours. The software, design, code, brand, and AI outputs generated by CF's underlying models are owned by LNS. You may not copy, redistribute, or commercially exploit CF's technology without written permission.

Feedback. If you share feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve CF without owing you compensation. But we'll always credit you if we can.

6 Limitations of Liability

CF is beta software. It may make mistakes, misunderstand you, or give advice that doesn't fit your situation. We work hard to make it good, but we can't guarantee perfection.

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • LNS is not liable for any decisions you make based on CF's output.
  • LNS is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
  • Our total liability is capped at the amount you paid for CF in the last 12 months (which is currently zero — CF is free).

These limitations don't apply where prohibited by law (e.g., gross negligence, fraud, or statutory consumer rights).

7 Termination

We can suspend you for: abuse, illegal activity, attempting to hack the system, repeated safety violations, or using CF while under 18.

You can leave anytime. No notice period, no exit fees. Export your data before you go if you want to keep it. We delete your data within 48 hours of account closure (except where required by law).

Upon termination, your access to CF stops immediately. You may not create a new account to circumvent a suspension.

8 Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as CF evolves. When we do:

  • We'll post the new version with a clear "last updated" date.
  • We'll notify you via email and in-app notification for material changes.
  • Continued use after 30 days = acceptance of the new terms.
  • If you don't agree, you can close your account before the changes take effect.

9 Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. For EU users, mandatory provisions of EU consumer protection law apply regardless of this choice.

Any disputes will first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If that fails, disputes will be resolved through arbitration in Mumbai, India, under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.
